Finca La Toronja - Plaza del Pescado Coín

Eating out in Coín (Málaga) – Tapas bars and restaurants

Due to the central location of Finca La Toronja in Coín, many tapas bars and restaurants can be reached on foot.  The restaurants and tapas bars we mention are a selection based on the positive experiences of our guests. Of course, there are even more restaurants and tapas bars in Coín that are open to discovery.

Actually, you can divide Coin into two parts where most things are located: the old centre or the urbanisation El Rodeo.

The old centre (Plaza de Jose Bermudez de la Rubia).

To the old centre, it is about 15 minutes on foot from here towards the fishermen’s market.  Popularly known as “Plaza del Pescado”, the square is a pleasant place to be. A pretty little square dominated by the church “San Juan Bautista” (16th century). From the Easter holidays until the end of September, you can walk here in the evening and enjoy the atmosphere. Small square with several tapas bars, gin bar, pizzeria and ice cream bar. In the summer months, the streets and squares are closed Friday and Saturday evenings. So children can play in the streets and parents can quietly enjoy their tapas and drinks in the company of family and friends.

The main things that dominate the plaza and its surroundings are:

The main things that dominate the plaza and its surroundings are:

El Rincon de la plaza: a modern tapas bar.

La Peña and La Torre: the more classic tapas bars with half or whole plates of fried fish, et al.

Coconut tapas restaurant is a 5-minute walk from the plaza towards Centro Salud.

Urbanisation El Rodeo.

Take the car from our place it is about a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk and you will arrive at the La Bohemia restaurant. A white coach house with a beautiful courtyard with a 100-year-old olive tree. This exudes a Moorish atmosphere where you can enjoy Andalusian cuisine. During summer, they also organise flamenco evenings (Noches de Bohemia) with adapted dishes in the courtyard. For this you have to be quick, quickly fully booked.

Noches de Bohemia - Finca La toronja

Driving past La Bohemia, we arrive a little further at the urbanization El Rodeo with its various restaurants and bars. The businesses are located at a roundabout with a bronze horse. During the summer months, the side streets on the side of the restaurants are closed. The place to be here is “Caso Paco de Coín“. A restaurant with a party room and tapas bar. As soon as the weather permits, the guests of the parties stand on the terrace and the closed street to enjoy their aperitifs and snacks. During weekends and the summer months, reservations are recommended here.

Nearby there is the pizzeria trattoría de Giacomo with a traditional pizza oven, as well as another Chinese restaurant, an Indian restaurant, a seafood restaurant La Jarra, Spanish bars and other eateries such as Fed Terraza (La Trocha).

And all in the dense surroundings of Finca La Toronja.
