Fiesta de la Naranja in Coín

The orange festival

Coín (Málága) will celebrate the “Fiesta de la Naranja”, or festival of the orange, for the 26th time on Sunday 21 May 2023. From 11am, the party will burst into life in and around Plaza José Bermúdez de la Rubia. As the name suggests, this gastronomic festival is all about the orange. But rest assured, there are also activities without oranges.

The traditional ‘sopa hervía’

Thousands of locals and visitors flock to this festival every year to come and taste fresh-squeezed orange juice, orange salad and the traditional ‘sopa hervía’, boiled soup. More than 5,000 kilos of oranges go into the dishes for this tasting feast.

Of course, you can also buy oranges at the market, which features some 50 exhibitors. Besides oranges, you can also find other local delicacies there, such as cheese, sausages, bread and sweets, as well as handicrafts and ceramics.

Music, dance and competitions

Besides the gastronomic treats, there is more to experience during the Fiesta de la Naranja. Enjoy musical performances, shows and popular dances. Or come and watch the competitions. All your senses will be stimulated during this annual festival.

Starting point Finca La Toronja

Of course, you’ll want to get to the festival nice and early or quickly sit with your legs up after that to enjoy yourself. Finca La Toronja is just a few minutes away from Coín by car. Prefer to walk? In around 15-20 minutes, you’ll be at Plaza José Bermúdez de la Rubia.  This makes Finca La Toronja the perfect base for the Fiesta de la Naranja.
