Walks in beautiful Andalusia from Coín (Málaga)

Walks in beautiful Andalusia from Coín (Málaga) and an incredible variety of landscapes.

B&B Finca La Toronja is not only a place to relax but also, due to its location, an ideal starting point for hiking in beautiful Andalusia.

In the vicinity, the offer is very large and varied ranging from walks in the mountains with its specific fauna and flora, unique rugged rock formations, protected natural parks, waterfalls, beautiful coastlines.

Some hiking tips:

Coín

At a 400 metres from our B&B, the first of 10 marked walks start. One of these leads to “Barranco Blanco”, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the province of Málaga.

Magnificent views from La Concha near Marbella

In good weather, a walk to ‘La Concha’, also known as ‘the shell of Marbella’, is highly recommended. The mountain with its highest point (1,200 m) is located in the southernmost part of the Sierra Blanca mountain range, an offshoot of the Sierra de las Nieves. Magnificent views of Gibraltar, Tangier and the coastline with its sandbanks. The starting point of the walk is at the hotel-restaurant El Refugio de Juanar, a 20-minute drive via the A-355 from our B&B.

Hiking in the beautiful nature reserve at the embalses of Guadalhorce and El Caminito del Rey.

This beautiful nature reserve is half an hour’s drive from our finca.

The walk “El Caminito del Rey” starts at the pump house of the old dam and goes through the gorge or popularly called “Garganta del Chorro see. The hike via the renovated path passes through the El Chorro area.

El Torcal de Antequerra – the fantastic rock world

El Torcal was the first protected nature reserve in Andalusia (1929).

What makes El Torcal so special? It is one of Spain’s most impressive karst landscapes.

Strange rocks take the shapes of animals and ghostly figures. It is a huge, 1,200-hectare rock labyrinth that stands out like a big, round table in its surroundings. Its highest point is 1336 metres above sea level. El Torcal can be seen from afar even from our garden at Finca La Toronja.

Montes de Mijas

Located a twenty-minute drive from the B&B, immediate access to 7 marked hiking trails with views of the Mediterranean and the hinterland. Difficulty ranges from easy to difficult (Pico de Mijas).

Last but not least the Sierra de las Nieves with its various hiking trails at a twenty-kilometre distance from us is definitely a must and of course not to forget a nice walk by the Mediterranean Sea.

There is a lot to experience and do near B&B Finca La Toronja in Coín (Málaga – Andalusia). Whatever you are going to do, we will be happy to help you get started to make your holiday unforgettable.
